Real-Time Quantitative PCR

$1,430.00

During this 3-day workshop clients will learn the process of amplification by learning theory and techniques for PCR. Following this course participants will be able to perform PCR reaction in their own laboratories, troubleshoot experiments, design primers and determine reaction conditions. We will cover critical requirements for amplification, thermostable DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase reactions, cloning of PCR products, primer design and mutagenic PCR.

Description

This 3-day workshop is designed to give participants a combination of lecture and hands-on laboratory experience using real-time PCR methods. As typical examples of the use of real-time PCR we will measure differential expression of RNA from different tissues. Clients will gain experience using DNA binding dyes and hydrolysis probe chemistries as well as multiplex real-time PCR. Lectures will include an overview of gene expression, assay design and optimization, template preparation, analysis of results, additional applications of real-time PCR technology, and more. Some previous experience using standard PCR or real time PCR is helpful but not necessary for workshop attendees.
