Introduction to the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)

$1,430.00

During this 3-day workshop clients will learn the process of amplification by learning theory and techniques for PCR. Following this course participants will be able to perform PCR reaction in their own laboratories, troubleshoot experiments, design primers and determine reaction conditions. We will cover critical requirements for amplification, thermostable DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase reactions, cloning of PCR products, primer design and mutagenic PCR.

Description

During this 3-day workshop clients will learn the process of amplification by learning theory and techniques for PCR. Following this course participants will be able to perform PCR reaction in their own laboratories, troubleshoot experiments, design primers and determine reaction conditions. We will cover critical requirements for amplification, thermostable DNA polymerases, reverse transcriptase reactions, cloning of PCR products, primer design and mutagenic PCR.

The BioSciConcepts workshops are designed to provide a solid understanding of specific topics through classroom presentation and laboratory work. Clients will gain significant experience in the performance of laboratory techniques taught in this PCR Workshop. Through integrated learning methods, utilizing hands-on training to reinforce lecture material, clients will be able to apply information learned in BioSciConcepts workshops into applications in their own laboratories. At the end of the workshop we will conduct a full workshop review, and data troubleshooting session. This is an introductory-level workshop. It is suitable for those with little experience in molecular biology although some knowledge is advisable. No experience with PCR is needed.
