BTI Receives Kahlert Foundation Grant

BTI is excited to announce that The Kahlert Foundation has awarded BTI a $50,000 grant. Based in Maryland and Utah, the Foundation’s mission is to provide grants to non-profit organizations to improve the quality of life and well-being of the community in the areas of health care, youth programs, education, veteran organizations, and human services. It is one of the largest private foundations in Maryland and Utah.

The Kahlert Foundation was established in 1991 by William “Bill” E. Kahlert. Bill was a very giving and generous man with a compassion and desire to make a difference in the communities where he lived and worked. Bill served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Provident Bank, was the Director of the Baltimore Region American Red Cross, and chairman of the Blood Board.

According to BTI Board Chair J.C. Weiss, “The Kahlert Foundation’s grant will enhance BTI’s transformative training of Baltimore area under- and unemployed residents into well paying career positions in the region’s bioscience community.”
